The Scenario

Several months after their last adventure in the desert, the O’Connell’s had finally found peace in their lives as they settle back down in their large mansion back in London. However peace was never meant to last for long for the Medjai Ardeth Bey had walked amongst their doorstep one fateful evening and had introduced them to yet another adventure. But this time the adventure has no true story for the key artifact within this adventure, the amulet of time travel has the ability to travel to different locations, never staying in one spot for a long period of time. Now the O’Connell’s find themselves in yet another deadly race against Imhotep and the Djed (yet another secret society). With many twists and turns in this epic tale the fate of humanity lies within your hands. This is Evil Eyes, an intermediate to advance RPG based on The Mummy. More?

The Newspaper

When the Medjai arrive at the Djed campsite they find themselves in the middle of a sandstorm created by Imhotep in which was used for their means to escape. (The World Is Not Enough) Upon escaping the Djed (and villains) they end up boarding their train in which is headed for Cairo. The next location of the amulet has been put into play by the three who can actually locate it, Imhotep, Anck-su-namun, and Evelyn. (The Dangerous Game) But much to the heroes and Medjai’s dismay, they find themselves far behind from the Djed, for their only means of transportation cannot keep up with a train.

General Information:
  • The Age limit here is 13 years of age. That’s right there’s an age limit. Why do we have one? Because we believe maturity is a must and we don’t want little kids joining the game and when something bad happens that they aren’t allowed to see, they go crying’ to their mommies and daddies and may end up suing us. When you join you join at your own risk. Do I make myself clear? Good.

  • In order to keep the forums alive the following type of content is not allowed on the forums: illegal drugs, alcohol (post it in the “mature” boards!), sex (fade it black please!), pornography, nudity (again, fade it black!), or any other form of adult content, profanity, hate, "spam," fraud, racism, mlm, pyramid schemes, or promote any illegal activity. For other things in which may be against the Proboards TOS please see the Proboards TOS for more information. This game MUST be kept at a PG13 rating.

  • This should be an obvious rule: What the staff member’s say’s goes….so please do not argue with them unless it’s truly worth something to argue about (in which we highly doubt it). They are the ones who moderate the game as a whole and work hard to keep everything in an orderly fashion and making sure nothing gets out of hand. Their goal is to help you, for which matter if you have questions the staff members are the best one’s to ask.

  • Don’t use chat speak. You know, plz, g2g, wtf, etc. Use complete sentences. A few wtf, lol, etc. are fine, but things like u, 2, plz, g2g, etc. aren’t. Keep these out of the boards as well as the C-Box and try to have proper grammar and spelling when writing.

  • GET INVOLVED! When you first join Evil Eyes it is your duty to get yourself involved. Don’t be afraid to hop onto the Evil Distraction Box and chat with members that are online. Don’t be afraid to introduce yourself in the introductions board. Don’t be afraid to start a conversation on the forums. Don’t be afraid to get yourself involved in plots by sending PMs to members and asking them for ideas! We want you to feel at home here, we want Evil Eyes to feel like your second family. We are a friendly community of Role Players that don’t want members to feel discouraged just because they can’t seem to fit into the plotline. Most of the time members will wind up making a chat room on an instant messenger and drag others into it for a friendly conversation or plotting sessions and thus it is suggested but not required that you have an instant messaging provider. Evil Eyes is based on not only interaction from characters in the game but interaction from our members as well. We want you to feel at home here so please do not be afraid to GET YOURSELF INVOLVED EVEN IF YOU HAVEN'T BEEN ACCEPTED YET!

  • All Pop Quiz’s should be sent to me, Evelyn O’Connell through PM on the forums. This means that if I see any Pop Quiz’s that are posted within the thread of the character in the Registration section or anywhere else on the forums I will either delete your character or remove the Pop Quiz information and ask you to send it through PM. This is due to the fact that we do not want anyone to copy off of any Pop Quiz’s just so they can get accepted to the game!

  • At this time we are currently not allowing signatures. We haven’t figured out an appropriate width for them on our forum so please keep them out. Avatars however are allowed and should be 100x100px max. If you have a difficulty in creating your own graphics we have a graphics board where you can request a graphic that you can use around Evil Eyes. Also be aware that if I think that your avatar/signature is stretching the page I will either resize it and upload it with our image uploading hack or delete it. No one wants a stretched out thread/board. The same goes for anything that I find on your accounts that I might think is stretching the pages.

  • Drama… I don’t want to see it here. While you are allowed to post drama in character please keep all Drama out of out of character. This means if you have a problem with another member I don’t want to see it on the boards. Take everything up to PM with either the member or a staff and they’ll help you.

  • We have a VERY strict activity check for pretty much everyone. This means that if you feel as though you aren’t going to be active by Role Playing, please don’t join. Here in Evil Eyes we moderate all of our characters and watch them posting. We make sure that you ARE posting and not just posting in the OOC areas or logging in. That type of activity does not count here in Evil Eyes…we rely on Role Playing activity! If you are inactive for more than one week you WILL receive an email from the staff, which is why we will state now that we require you to have a working email address that you check daily or every other day. We will normally state that you are being moderated and you are now on probation and being watched by all staff and that you have one week in order to get re-active again…if you email us with a good reason that you are inactive than we will mark you off the moderated list. If you do not email us back and another week has past than we will put your character up for available or delete your account. You ARE welcome to re-apply but keep in mind that you will be under watch for your first month back. If you fail to keep up with activity even then we will delete your account and your character will be taken from you permanently. We’re sorry guy’s….but we really don’t want Evil Eyes to die and have inactive members. We highly revolve around character interaction and the contributions of our players! Also guy’s activity checks will be EVERY TWO WEEKS prior to the first activity check thread.

Character Creation:
  • Mary-Sue’s, Gary-Stu’s, Scary Loos, or anything of the sort isn’t allowed here. Confused on what it is? Please read Wikipedia’s description on a Mary Sue. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary-Sue

  • When creating a character create a whole new account for them. This means that I don’t want to see any accounts registered with just their player name like ‘beautifulgurl150’ or something like that. When you register you should have your characters name first and your last name last. Example: Evelyn O’Connell. This should be done per every character you create. Applications that are submitted to the game and don’t have it in this type of format will be rejected automatically without warning. When you register to the boards however please make sure you register with your characters FIRST NAME. And then have your display name match your characters First and Last Name.

  • Your character cannot be named after the celebrity, anime, or any other form of character that you choose to resemble/portray your character. Characters that are found with the same name of the actor/actress/character of choice that portrays the character will be rejected without notice.

  • You can only have one canon characters per player. You are however allowed to purchase the right to create a second canon character. Unless we are in desperate need of the character and I know you well enough you are welcome to send a PM to me and I will more than likely give you a free right in creating the character (note: 99% of the time I WILL say no). You can create up to three free characters. This means if you want to go over three characters you must use the pounds you earned by posting in the game and spend them in the Bank of London by purchasing the right to create a forth character and so on. The right to create a fourth, fifth, or sixth character is 250 pounds each. Confused? Send a PM to Evelyn O’Connell or post a topic in the Questions and Suggestions forum and we’ll get back to you.

  • If you see that our stats are getting uneven or there's a group that has more people than the others please apply for a different group to help even out our stats. This means that if the hero group has more than 5 people and the villains group only has 1 person in it apply for a villain instead. This goes the same with all other groups. We'd also like to keep our male to female ratio at an even pace. So this also means that if you find more females than male's in the game please apply for a male. Though it isn't required it is just something that'll help to once again even out our stats!

  • In your application I don’t want to see any pictures. I want to see how descriptive you can be! Also so we know you still want your character every three days post in your application to let us know. That way we still know you’re interested in your character. If it’s been three week and there have been no posts in your application we will automatically reject it.

  • Characters shouldn’t be in an automatic relationship with one another unless they are canon… This means that I want to see relationships develop as the game goes along. I don’t want to see anyone automatically fall in love just because in real life their players are boyfriend and girlfriend. You didn’t automatically fall in love with one another you know.

  • Please don’t have your main interest be when joining Evil Eyes to fall in love with another character. We understand we all fan girl a lot sometimes, however not everyone is going to have a lover. Chances are relationships may be more torn apart than any other game. Think of it this way: Your character is on a journey. Your character is in the middle of one big adventure that may lead to the fate of the world. Would your character really have time for relationships unless they were already in one and truly didn’t care about what was going on or they weren’t in one already? So to simply state it, please DON’T have your main interest be in the game to fall in love with someone else. We’ll understand that your character may have the eye for another, but please keep romantic relationships to a minimum. If you truly MUST have a romantic relationship with someone in the game then please contact staff. We don’t want this site to just be all about romance and falling in love.

  • Characters that are in their teens are NO LONGER ACCEPTED. We would prefer it that characters is at least 25 at the most, 22 being the youngest with an exception of Alex. Want a character that is younger? Please contact staff and we’ll discuss it with you.

  • Want your character to be related to a canon? Guess what? You can’t! Here in Evil Eyes we strive to keep this off of our game. The old Evil Eyes allowed it, and we still have characters from the old Evil Eyes that we just don’t want to get rid of, but new characters related to the O’Connell’s or any other canon character? Heck no! Keep them OUT if they are an original character. There are PLENTY of other opportunities for you to choose from when it comes to character wise. We have given you the biggest opportunity as to becoming a Medjai or a Djed, in which case you’ll be interacting with canons. We’ve given you the ability to become an archaeologist or any other high class job in this game. Evil Eyes is all about thinking OUTSIDE of the box (well in our case….book?) and putting in various ideas into play that may make Evil Eyes even more entertaining than your typical game.

Also guy’s….keep in mind: no matter what occupation you choose or what type of character you have, chances are you WILL be interacting with a canon in some form of way. We will try our hardest to get your character involved into the game but the only thing we ask is that you SOCIALIZE and form PLOTS from the start to get yourself involved, but again, we’ll get you involved in some way or form. We’ll also state that chances are we’ll always find a way for you to hop into the game and get started – but again: don’t be afraid to ASK people to join in a thread to get yourself more involved.

Role Playing:
  • God Moding is not allowed here. This should be obvious. This means you cannot take control over another players character and act out as them and automatically claim their killed or automatically claim something happened to that character without proper permission from the character’s player. Every character has a weakness people and no one is perfect!

  • All writing samples and posts done within the game areas should be 150 words or more. Writing samples should also be baseed on the character that YOU ARE APPLYING FOR. That’s right. This is an intermediate to advance game. This means I want to see detailed posts. This means NO one liners whatsoever. While we understand that sometimes you can’t really post in this limit we will let it go just as long as you make it look like its 150 words or more. Also, every post done in the RPG sections should be in third person. I don’t want to see any narration, first person, or anything of the sort. Write your posts as you would in a book. Also keep your posts simple and to the point. This means no fancy font, colors, centered posts, or anything of the sort. Just write it as it is!

  • When posting at the beginning of your post please use this format. It helps to keep track of important events, timeline, as well as settings and whatnot. Underneath this then you can post your post. This is a must use for all IC posts that are done in the RPG Boards. This format however should just be used on the FIRST post of the topic. All other posts don't have to use the format unless they are starting a new topic.

    Code:
    [list]
    [*] [b]Date and Time[/b]:
    [*] [b]Setting[/b]:
    [*] [b]Weather Conditions[/b]:
    [/list]

  • Please take note that when posting you cannot post for a character in different locations under the same date unless you've moved that character to that location. While you can create as many threads as you desire please make sure they are on different dates if you plan on posting in different locations when you haven't moved out of a certain thread. your rpg password is time If you need to ask any questions on this rule feel free to ask in the Questions and Suggestions section of the forum.

  • Please post at least once every four days. This not only helps keep the game in motion but it also helps others continue a thread and not make it seem like its dead. If you post more than once every four days then that's great! The more you post the better!

  • When posting I don't want to see anyone posting things like: She was typing on the computer. She was talking on the cell phone. Remember this is in 1933 and it is several years after World War I. Things that weren't invented before or during the year 1933 should not even be played out in the game. So be realistic here people!

By joining you automatically agree to the rules above and you agree to the fact that I, Evelyn O’Connell, reserve the right to add, remove, and change the above rules. You also agree to the fact that if you ever become inactive I reserve to put your character up as available and delete your account.
