The Scenario

Several months after their last adventure in the desert, the O’Connell’s had finally found peace in their lives as they settle back down in their large mansion back in London. However peace was never meant to last for long for the Medjai Ardeth Bey had walked amongst their doorstep one fateful evening and had introduced them to yet another adventure. But this time the adventure has no true story for the key artifact within this adventure, the amulet of time travel has the ability to travel to different locations, never staying in one spot for a long period of time. Now the O’Connell’s find themselves in yet another deadly race against Imhotep and the Djed (yet another secret society). With many twists and turns in this epic tale the fate of humanity lies within your hands. This is Evil Eyes, an intermediate to advance RPG based on The Mummy. More?

The Newspaper

When the Medjai arrive at the Djed campsite they find themselves in the middle of a sandstorm created by Imhotep in which was used for their means to escape. (The World Is Not Enough) Upon escaping the Djed (and villains) they end up boarding their train in which is headed for Cairo. The next location of the amulet has been put into play by the three who can actually locate it, Imhotep, Anck-su-namun, and Evelyn. (The Dangerous Game) But much to the heroes and Medjai’s dismay, they find themselves far behind from the Djed, for their only means of transportation cannot keep up with a train.

Physical Description:
Madison is half-Egyptian. Because of this, she has a very dark olive complexion and black hair. She inherited her mother's hair texture--soft and supple but still wavy--and her mother's hazel eyes. While pretty, Madison is not a stunning beauty. Her body is curved and slightly rounder, preventing her from being described as slender.

She is about five feet and six inches tall, so she isn't stocky. She tends to wear men's clothing when she is out on a dig, namely pants, off-white and over-sized shirts, boots, gunbelt, and hat. She always has a rucksack over her shoulder and a rope on her belt, in case she should ever take a wrong step off a cliff or into a sink hole.

Personality:
As a woman of mixed heritage, Madison has both the best and worst of her parents' personalities. She is stubborn as a mule and close-minded when she wants to be (inherited from her mother). Also, when angered, her temper is a force to be reckoned with (from her father).

However, when she is calm and collected, she is a very generous and kind person. She loves children and teenagers, finding them better conversationalists than most adults that she knows. She is also very perceptive of other people, knowing when they need space or comfort by turns.

While she knows how to defend herself and will do so if necessary, Madison hates bloodshed and violence. She is a scholar and heart and will take the logical path first. if that fails, then she will try the more brash approach. She will only use violence as a last resort.

History:
Born in the deserts of Egypt, Madison Hasan Jaber is the daughter of a Bedouin tribal leader and an American adventurer. Her mother's name was Sarah Conner before she married Hasan Mohammed Jaber. They met when Sarah's exploration group was attacked by Bedouin raiders. Hasan's tribe saw the trouble and rode to aid the American and British adventurers.

When the raiders were driven off, Hasan was struck by Sarah's pale beauty and invited her group to come to his camp. There, the adventurers were treated like royalty and given every luxury that the desert could afford. Sarah was flattered by all this, not to mention extremely attracted to the young chieftan who had helped her friends. The group remained with the Bedouin for a week before continuing. They left without Sarah.

Sarah and Hasan were married in a Muslim ceremony (after Sarah converted, of course) and spent a blissful year together. Then, they discovered that Sarah was pregnant. This was the happiest moment of their lives. Hasah was already planning on a son to carry on his line and his duties as chieftan.

But, as strong as Sarah was, childbirth was too much for her body. She died after giving birth to a healthy girl and naming her Madison. Hasan was heartbroken and could not even approach his daughter for weeks. When he finally could stand the sight of the infant, he gave her the Arabic name of Jabirah (comforter).

Growing up, Madison was the jewel of her father's tribe. She was taught all the ways of a proper Bedouin woman from cooking and sewing to child rearing. She also learned horseback riding, how to shoot, hunting, and the languages of her Mother and country. By the age of twelve, she could speak Arabic, English, and Ancient Egyptian equally fluently.

But, Madison had inherited her mother's restless spirit and longed to see the world. After much coddling and pleading, she managed to convince her father to send her to America. At the age of seventeen, Madison entered Harvard (through her mother's fortune and the fact that her grandfather had been a professor there) and began to study ancient languages. It was there that she learned Latin and Archaeology caught her fancy.

When she graduated from Harvard, Madison returned to Egypt and began visiting the ancient ruins with a passion. By the time she was twenty-three, she had visited almost all of Egypt. When she was twenty-five, she recieved word that her father was ill. Returning to her family, she arrived in time to be at his deathbed. She named her father's oldest nephew, Ahmad, the legal heir to the cheiftanship and returned to her work.

For the past two years, she has been going around ruins trying to find evidences of ancient cults dedicated to the gods, specifically Osiris. Her interest in this was sparked by legends of an ancient group called the Djed. So far, she has not found anything conclusive and is considering giving up this work for more conventional archaeology.

Writing Sample:
Madison stood in the beating sun and wiped her forehead with a heavy sigh as she looked at the crusted ground at her feet. There was a pile of sand to her right and she snorted at the pitiful size of it.

"Ya haram," she muttered in Arabic. "This is harder than I thought it would be."

Making a face, she gathered up her tools and shoved them into her rucksack. This was just not her day. Her belongings packed, she walked over to her horse, Bin al-Rih, and mounted expertly.

"Let's go, habibi," she said, patting the horse's powerful neck.

The black Arabian stallion snorted and took off at a trot, carrying her back to the camp of her father's tribe. Her father's. Wasn't it her tribe as well? No. She had no tribe of her own. Blast it all. She spurred Bin al-Rih into a canter.

Well, there really isn’t anything wrong in this profile in my opinion. The only thing that I find odd is where she learned Italian. I’d understand Ancient Egyptian for the most part, but otherwise I don’t understand how she’d learn that little bit of Italian. My other question is how she got into Harvard if she was a Bedouin member. I’d understand it that she got into a lower college level school or a community college at that….but otherwise I doubt that she’d get into Harvard unless something grand happened since Harvard is pretty expensive and the Bedouin’s are desert people. Considering that, that specific area (the Bedouin’s) isn't my specialty, I’m going to have to let Ardeth’s verdict be the final decision on this profile. My only suggestion to you is to have some form of clarification as to how she got into Harvard (considering I don’t know if she’d actually be schooled?) and where she learned Italian.

Also, what interested her in learning about Osiris? I see a little hint of Djed in there. ^_^; Other than that I’m letting Ardeth’s verdict be final. :) But so far I have an Accepted, But on this profile if you fix the above.

Ok. I fixed it up. By the way, it was Latin, not Italian.

B-e-a-utiful! I'm going to second Evy in accepting this. However, I am curious as to how she ended up disliking soldiers.
